Professional virtualization solution for heavy use

This category of solutions which is professional virtualization solutions for groups such as: engineering and graphic design centers, specialized schools for heavy software, etc., whose users need a lot of hardware resources. Therefore, if your company is not counted in this category, the following solutions will not be useful for you

Solution number 1: : server application + DDP zero client

In this method, one or more central computers or servers are placed and conditions are provided to use the combination of their hardware resources.

No!
The purpose of this solution is to save hardware resources.
And this is while not only efficiency and speed are not sacrificed, but efficiency and quality are also increased.
Note that every program (whether heavy or small) has a main part that we call the core of that program.
And another part that we call session and actually it is a graphic environment that is presented to the user.
And most of the pressure that program puts on system resources is due to its kernel.
Therefore, there is a standard that allows us to take infinite sessions from a program core.
In simpler words, we make a heavy program such as: 3DMAX to be mounted on your resources once, and we give each user only one session.
What happens is that when the first person opens the app, it takes a while to open, but when subsequent people run the app,
The program opens quickly and users feel like they are working with a very powerful computer.

The load resulting from this term is called a dynamic load, that is, it puts pressure on the system only when the user is using that software.
(In normal situation, when the software is open and the work is not done, it does not deliver a load to the system.)
According to statistics, a professional computer user consumes an average of 7 to 13% of his computer hardware resources.
that a major part of this consumption is only caused by the operating system and programs.
By considering the concurrency factor between users, the load from the first part of any main computer program is greatly reduced.
Consider the following example to clarify the issue:
Suppose you have a company in which you need 30 powerful computers with an approximate value of 3 million Tomans each;
By placing a main computer worth approximately 12 million Tomans, we provided the same experience of working with a computer of 3 million Toman worth.

Zero DDP client gives us special features such as:

  • The server produces a special session for each user by spending the least amount of hardware resources.
It means that it does not produce an image for each user and only produces pixels that change in each frame compared to the previous frame for him, and this means a very optimal use of hardware resources.
  • The network does not carry images for each user, which means more than 80% savings in network bandwidth
  • Due to the free bandwidth, we can provide the users with the desired and professional sound quality without delay.
  • We can even connect users to the server wirelessly.

Advantages:

  • Significant economic savings at the time of purchase
  • Significant savings in upgrade costs (we upgrade only the central computer and because it is from the server family, it has a favorable upgradeability compared to personal computers)
  • Increased efficiency and performance (for reasons explained above)
  • Simple and fast software and operating system updates
  • It does not require special knowledge to use and set up, it does not even require network knowledge
  • Removing the support for each user and ensuring the security of each user’s information and problems caused by viruses
  • Only an original version of an antivirus is needed
  • High information security
  • The possibility of simultaneous and moment-to-moment monitoring and control of users (without imposing an additional load on the network)
  • Far easier backup of data
  • Only one server is needed (for the number of users less than 30 people, a desktop computer can be used!)

Solution number 2: server application + zero HDX client

The overall performance in this solution is exactly the same as solution number one. With the difference that we need a special infrastructure to use this solution.
Such as: server virtualization, application virtualization, active directory, xen service, etc.

Advantages:

  • All the benefits of solution number 1, except for the ability to monitor and manage users online
  • More optimal use of network bandwidth (the most optimal solution in using network bandwidth)
  • We can offer each user only the programs he needs and take the operating system environment from the users.

Disadvantages:

  • Requires complex and specialized infrastructure (not recommended for small companies)
  • It needs at least 2 servers, one of which must belong to the family of servers.

Solution number 3: Server application + PCoIP zero client

In this method, we act in such a way that we give each user a dedicated operating system (virtual desktop from a virtual operating system – each user an operating system).
And only his software session is provided by the server application.
Obviously, in this method, we have to allocate some hardware resources for each user.
Therefore, compared to the above solutions, we need much more hardware resources for the specific operating system of that user.

Advantages:

  • Ability to isolate each user’s operating system from other users
  • The possibility of allocating special and customized hardware resources for users

Disadvantages:

  • Requires specialized infrastructure (not recommended for small companies)
  • It requires much more hardware resources compared to the above two solutions.

Solution number 4: server application + PC or thin client for each user

In this software method, we change the PC user or thin client used by each user to PCOIP zero client or HDX zero client.
In this way, every user gets his normal and office needs from his pc or thin client and gets his heavy needs from the server application.

Advantages:

  • It is much more affordable for companies whose users already have computers.
  • Users have the ability to work offline (without connection to the network).

Disadvantages:

  • Low information security (not recommended for big and sensitive companies)
  • Need support for each system, each user
  • High power consumption (each computer consumes approximately 200 watts – a very high consumption compared to a 5-watt zero-client)
